TAI CHI AND QIGONG EXPERIENCE
Hi! I am Ellen, founder of Tai Chi With Ellen LLC. I have been a tai chi and qigong practitioner for over 30 years. I studied at a local tai chi and qigong center for over 18 years. For 13 of those years I deepened my understanding of tai chi and qigong by teaching advance students. Then I taught independently for 5 years at a city recreation center. In 2018 I attended Wudang Baqua Internal Cultivation Retreat with Master Bing (Zhong Xue Chao) from Wudang Mountain in China, the birthplace of tai chi and Chinese qigong. I continue to practice with other local tai chi practitioners as well as teach tai chi and qigong to individuals and small groups.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Someone once commented to me, “Tai chi is woven into your being.” My commitment to practice has enabled me to unite with my tai chi and qigong. My focus is on personalized learning whether instructing for individuals or small groups. As your teacher my main goal will be to provide high quality, clear instruction for each movement so that you will gain confidence to practice on your own. When you practice regularly, you will build body memory. Over time, the postures will become second nature and you will experience the full benefits of tai chi and qigong. Tai chi can be woven into your being also.
PREVIOUS PROFESSIONAL TEACHING
Teaching has been my profession and joy. I was an art teacher for many years in addition to teaching tai chi and qigong. Teaching art was a demanding profession. Fortunately I was able to rely on my tai chi and qigong practice as a way to calm my mind and body so that I could meet the needs of over 600 students each year. Tai chi and qigong was my go to modality. For this reason I continue to find joy in teaching tai chi and qigong, even though I have left the art teaching profession.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS
I have spent most of my life focused on health and wellness. I have benefited from numerous healing modalities in addition to my practice of tai chi and qigong. For me there is no one magical means to complete health and well-being. It is an ongoing process of listening to your own body and allowing your aches and pains to guide you to what you need. Be true to yourself. Self-love leads to self-care.
Why would I choose tai chi and qigong if there are other modalities of healing? I can rely on tai chi and qigong for self-care anywhere, at any time and without any equipment. I only need to make an appointment with myself. I am able to find relief from my discomfort. Often after doing tai chi and qigong I feel relaxed and rejuvenated as if I have returned from a pristine beach.
I am a member of the Minnesota Holistic Medicine Group. Check out my listing at www.minnesotaintegrative.com.
